Just had fire alarm go off and airport cleared

At Austin airport and had just cleared security when the fire alarm went off. Everyone had to go out front then back through security. Evidently the Wok and Roll Chinese restaurant had a fire. Will give it to TSA they opened every line and got everyone back through quickly.

Am wondering why I had to walk past the emergency exits to go out front instead of staying in a "secure" area so I wouldn't have to repeat security check.

I would guess for your own safety if the fire became unmanageable. I've never experienced it, but common sense tells me being overcome with smoke and 1500 degree temps is probably bad for your state of being alive

No I mean I walked by exits at every gate that would get me outside next to the plane I'm flying on but instead I had to walk past the restaurant where the fire was to go out the main front doors.

I'd be unnerved if I was in any airport and alarms started going off.

Tin foil hat on following the election.

Oh. My guess is that is so someone does not intentionally set an alarm in order to gain access to a plane with intent to sabotage

Sounds like a TSA agent had to drop a deuce, pulled the alarm for an extra minute for themselves.
