I have been pulling what few hairs I have out this weekend.
I have Xfinity and a Belkin router. Xfinity came out and installed their security system Saturday. I had them take the modem I was renting and replace it with one I bought to save the $10/mo rental. The one I bought was the exact same as what they took away. Previously everything was working great but now I can't get my own camera security system to work right.
I am certain I had to previously get Xfinity to bridge their modem so I went through chat with them to do that on the new one. At first they said it already was and I explained this is a new modem and if they are looking at records it is probably the old one that was bridged unless the new one comes out of the box that way. After a few back and fourths they say they've verified it is bridged
I have everything connected to the belkin, and then the belkin connected to the modem. I have port forwarding set on the belkin for the dvr's ip. The belkin has a ip of 10.0.0.8 on the modem so I set the same port #'s to forward on the modem for that ip.
So here are the issues I'm having. I have a dyndns address that I've been using. I use to be able to see cameras on mobile app regardless if I was on my home network or not. Now I can only see the cameras if I am on home network using the dyndns address. What I have figured out is that when I look at the dyndns site it shows the belkin routers IP (10.0.0.8)? In the Belkin setup page I have the dyndns address put into the firewall ddns page. If in the dyndns web page I update the IP to use my current location the cameras will work only when not connected to home wifi (on cellular).
So is this because they have not actually put my modem into bridge mode?
