    Which bow and why

If money wasn't an issue and you wanted a new bow (longbow or recurve) what would you buy and why? What woods would you choose for the riser and limb veneers? I'm in the mood for a new one but wanted to ask the Green Brain Trust your opinion.

    Thanks

I bought a Martin x200 about 9 years ago to get started and still use it to this day
As for different woods and such i really dont know anything. But ask this question on the trad side and you will get many options and pictures

Haven't shot my trad bows in a while but my two favorite were my tolke whip and my black widow short recurve. I think bamboo in the limbs may add some performance but after that it's all what looks good to you.

I had bought a Blacktail recurve by Norm Johnson years ago. It was bocote and wenge with bocote veneer over bamboo limbs. I want to say it had some type of myrtle wood accents in it, too.
I took it to Colorado elk hunting and nearly killed a four-point bull with it, but didn't like dragging it through the mesquite brush after hogs. I put it on eBay and sold it. I replaced it with a diamond wood or whatever Bob Lee black and brown recurve.

I looked on his site, but he doesn't have one that's very close to what I had. It had the footed limbs which were the dark wenge accents on the bocote veneers. My bow ended up going to Austria.
An old thread on Blacktails. A pic of mine is in there.

I am seriously considering a Blacktail Sitka. I doubt that I would hunt with it, just show it off and play with it. They are gorgeous!
