Question about window choices on log homes

I've seen the traditional style where the upper or smaller windows closest to the roof overhang match the roof angle.

But then there are occasionally log homes with half-round or arched windows under or closest to the gable ends. To me the arched style interrupts the flow of the roof lines.

Is there a view advantage with arched-top windows? Maybe better outdoor light infiltration?

In the log home I grew up in we had the triangle window and it didn't give us much added light.
