Don't say I did not tell you so.

I had mentioned in other gun threads that the leftist can not get around the 2nd amendment, they have tried and failed..so they are going after the ammo to effectively render your guns useless/or finacially unfeasable to shoot..so here ya go.

WOW. Read the one for Illinois. This law is scary because it doesn't sound like "the end of the world" but it is a HUGE step in the wrong direction and it will start us down a slippery slope. It's all about one word.....CONTROL

That is what I was thinking. "No sir officer, I shot all that stuff up years ago! Nothing here but a bunch of low brass #8s for bird season...yeah you have a nice day to! Good bye." (sound of front door closing and me laughing as I walk to the fridge for a beer.)

              Or.....

We can give them our ammo using a 2-step process:

Step 1: Give them the bullets.

Step 2: Give them the empty brass.

Here is an email I sent them. I will post a reply if I get one.

                To quote your website:

“Ammunition coding technology works by laser etching the back of each bullet with an alpha-numeric serial number. Then when a potential criminal purchases a box of 9mm cartridges, the box of ammunition and the bullets’ coding numbers would be connected to the purchaser in a statewide database. When a bullet is found at a crime scene, the code on the bullet can be read with a simple magnifying glass and then be run through a statewide database to determine who purchased the ammunition and where, providing a valuable investigative lead.”

This is just stupid. Do you really think that criminals will just walk in to a sporting goods store and purchase ammo that has been tagged. No, they will just steal it or use older, black market ammo.

This is so typical. You would make a law abiding citizen a criminal because they did not go along with this madness by disposing of their old ammo. But the real criminal would just laugh and keep on going.

You want to help the victims and their families? Start locking up the criminals and stop early releasing them. Stop illegal immigration. Make it easier for law abiding citizens to arm and protect themselves.

Very good points. I doubt they are brave enough or smart enought to reply intellegently to your email though. I agree with you though.

I purchased about 3k rounds of 556. I think this would be the end of hunting as we know it. Think how expensive it would be to go plinking with a 22lr. I know I cut teeth on a brick a week.

I will be really suprised if you get any response or one that is not scripted. None the less well done, and you are spot on.

I guess I need to go buy a few bricks of .22 ammo..........And what about the folks who reload their own ammo? Are they gonna give them an etching tool and have the mark alll their brass?
