Changing battery volt size for electric fence

I have a solar panel charged electric fence. Can I Changing battery volt size for electric fence from a 9.5 to a 12v. I understand that it will only change to 9.5 v due to that is what's the panel p uts out but would the fence still shock at 9.5 V

So you have a 9.5 volt electric fence that is powered by a solar panel and you want to change the solar panel out to a 12 volt panel. Is this what you are trying to say?

I have read this several times. I think he is wanting to put a 12V battery on a system made for 9.5 V. I am not familiar with electric fences, but a 9.5V system seems pretty strange to me. And if you continually undercharge a 12V battery, it is not going to last very long. And.....when you initially hook up a 12v battery to a 9.5V system, you may damage something

I'd say you need to see what the manufacture says in their manual or check online.
