What the best PEX Pipe end connection?

We are building a camp house out in west Texas, and are wanting to use PEX for our water lines. We have no experience with it. I have been looking on the internet, and it seems there are many different types of end connections.

I am looking for insight on what is the most reliable type, and any recommendations on how you like to run your pipes. I have read about some people installing manifolds, and some just running a larger header.

    Thanks!

Wirsbo or Viega. The tool's for Viega are a little cheaper. One is a crimp system .

I like the shark bite fittings. Pricey but reliable from my experience

We use Uponor when we use pex but you have to buy an expander tool that is pricey.

No to shark bite , they are for repairing only at best.

I'm not sure what to say

Wirsbo pro pex is as good as it get imo. Use a lot of it. Milwaukee makes a good expander tool for about 300$. Viega manablock manifolds have been flawless as well. Very well built and out of 100+ units used no issues

I used the crimp on type. Should have went with expander type if I had the tool. Expander you can re use the fittings. Manifold if running many lines.

Per is great for were it freezes, no more fixing frozen pvc lines!

I worked 35 years in the MEP consulting business. Wirsbo was what I had in my specs and the only thing I would approve. Crimp connections on new construction. Never trusted expander fittings to handle water hammer.

I've had good luck with the Viega PEX Press Bronze fittings. They are the ones that have the stainless crimp sleeve attached to the fitting. I'm sure their are others too but these have been failproof for me.

If you are not a plumber, much like myself just use the sharkbites. I just redid the manifold in my shower and it was way to easy.
