Just place an ad with a picture of roofing shingles on Craigslist for free roofing shingles. LOL In a very brief amount of time, you too will be/can be swamped with phone calls and texts from strangers. My phone blew up in a short time. Every sad story you'll ever or never want to hear and read will be told to you.

It was more than this guy could stand so he promptly deleted the ad and will gladly find another method to deal with the shingles. Ha ha.

I learned my lesson.

Long ago I learned that the difference between offering something on CL for free versus asking $5 for it results in two completely different sets of people showing up at your house. I have never met stranger folks than the ones who crawl out of their worm holes to pick up my free chit.

There were just sooooo many fishy sounding stories. I just didn't like the idea of someone lying to me, claiming they were in need and them turn around and sell the shingles.

I'd rather offer them to members on here that might could use them on a lease or whatever. Not sure how many can be unstuck and actually used on a roof. Hopefully those that aren't usable for that could be purposed for a driveway or wheel ruts/tracks.

I helped a friend get over his lonely period to several years ago.


It was almost easter and I put an ad in the thrifty nickel with his phone number saying that he had free cabritos, call if interested

We have a few rounds of this going at work. Started with free Gatorade then went to free Goats among other things. Surprisingly the free pallet of Gatorade had the biggest effect! Had to shut his phone off. Pretty funny stuff!
