I have had the pleasure of knowing Mike Prasek for many years. One of the best people you will ever meet. Congrats to him on a buck of a lifetime-leading Muy Grande for now. It is amazing when a 206" deer is not going to win all contests. A testament to Texas deer management. If you head South from the Houston area you pass Mike's store "Prasek's Hillge Smokehouse."

I grew up going in to Mike's old store in Down Town Hillje before they bypassed it. I'll have to stop by and see this one.

I have known him for years. They are in the process of doubling the size of the current store. They are taking in the lot next door, and that will be the parking lot. The entire East side parking lot will soon be building. He has done well for himself from meager beginnings. You will not meet a more humble guy. They have to hire security on opening weekend of deer season because they take so much money in. Good grub for sure.

His son Mike Jr. is a super nice dude too. Dealt with him in the past when I took them my deer meat.
