Had a pair of aculon binoculars, were def out of focus (double vision) so I sent em in. Didn't think they were covered by warranty since I could never remember registering them or anything . So anywho they quoted 56 bucks to repair that I would have paid. Instead they completely replaced my binocs and sent me a brand new pair fo free... I was definitely surprised and love great customer service, gladly will continue to purchase Nikon products.

I have had good luck with all of my Nikon products and have yet to have the need for any warranty but that is good to hear.

Looks like several of the popular optics companies are now offering "lifetime, no question" warranties
