Hogman, how has the deer movement been where you're hunting? It's extremely slow where I'm hunting.

Last morning for me. Yesterday I finally saw a little forkhorn. He actually walked up within about 50 yards of me. Something is coming in every night and eating all the apples and carrots I'm throwing out. Apparently my camera has crapped out cause I'm not getting any pictures.

Hogman, our land is between Seagraves and Denver city. Where are you hunting?

This year has been a major disappointment. Last year I saw multiple deer literally every hunt. I even got some pictures of a small whitetail buck two mornings in a row about a week after mule deer season ended. This year has been the complete opposite. I'm not sure what happened. We have water, food, and plenty of cover. If deer are on the place they've turned into ninja deer.

That country has some of the largest mule deer in TX. Traveling HW180 between Snyder and Seminole you can see some monsters (IMO) from the road. I believe they just opened it up for deer hunting a couple of years ago. Hope to see some pics.

Seems the western part has been shot out real bad. It's been slow all over from what I've been told so far. Pretty typical for the standard season. TPWD was drunk when they set the season apparently lol

                    Good luck!!

I tend to agree with you. I've been told by several different people that didn't know each other that poaching has become really bad out there. The main culprit they all said was Mennonites. I personally have nothing against Mennonites, they are extremely hard workers and great farmers. They farm a majority of the land out there, and the season lasts all year for them. Not legally of course, but they can always claim crop deprivation. Not good when the you already have a fragile mule deer population. This year our property was farmed by Mennonites, and the deer sightings have gone down to nothing. Maybe it's all just a coincidence, but last season I saw multiple deer every hunt. This season I saw one deer in 9 hunts.

That's exactly right. They are bad.

My buddies big place gets hit hard too though. He has caught lots of folks shooting off the road. They take it VERY serious.

I thought nonresidents couldn't draw mule deer tag in KS?

Unfortunately this is what I've heard. We definitely need more Game Wardens out there. They are spread thin. In the 8 years I've been hunting out there I've never once seen one. Last season I counted 18 different deer, with 8 different bucks. This season was a complete turnaround. Something drastic happened on our property.
