On a side note, the Record Rack smells really good and I have often wondered if it also serves as a cover scent. I usually have 2 out at any given time and as I'm corning the smell of the blocks is very strong up to 15 yards away.

I put one out along with a white salt block and a brown mineral block (mostly salt with minerals). They tore into the goat block the same evening and didn't leave it alone until it was gone about 6-7 days later.

If you find a place to get one cheaper let me know. I bet any goat block would work fine.

Hogs will like both of them. Ive had great success with Record Rack but once the hogs moved in I stopped putting them out.

I've been using...

I've been using the Hi Pro blocks from Double L Feed in Ingram. 18% protein and they don't last more than two weeks at my lease near Dryden. They last less than a week if the darn Barbado sheep or pigs find it.

Weekend before last I stopped in Ozona and got a couple of different blocks. They weren't Hi Pro or Big And J, but some kind of granola blend is all I can remember other than they were only $7.99. Put them out on Friday afternoon and by Sunday morning it was nearly gone.

The same thing happens when I put out molasses buckets. It doesn't last longer than a week if anything other than the deer find it.
