    Game Activity Forecast?

Does anyone really follow the various game activity forecasts? For example HuntSTand.com app claims that the major morning game activity is between 1:01 am thru 4:04am, and the minor activity is between 7:10 and 9:20. What's the deal

I use their app but I never can tell how great it is. It has nothing to do with weather from what I can tell. I think it primarily uses moon phase. Go look at a random day in December and it'll give a rating, then go look again on that day and the rating will be the same, regardless of weather.

          Search the term Solunar Tables...

Or go here and check for the closest coastal station to you on a north south line. (sun and moon move east west, so only longitude is important.) i.e. Austin might use Corpus Christi, Dallas might use Freeport. If you are west of Austin, times may be 15 minutes to a half hour later than Corpus, but in the ball park.

Tide tables and solunar charts for Texas: high tides and low tides; sun and moon rising and setting times, lunar phase, fish activity and weather conditions in Texas.

Monday the 14th and Tuesday the 15th, according to the chart for Central Texas, should be strong movement both in the morning and evening. If you have sick time, you might want to catch a cold...

Just read an article yesterday about a guy who only hunts the 5 days a month that have a visible afternoon moon. I believe typically it's the week before a full moon. He says the mature bucks are much more likely to feed and roam in the afternoon during these times. This month is supposed to have a better than normal supermoon. I guess we shall see next weekend.

Although I got ridiculed on here a few years ago for saying that some of the apps I look at are fairly close, particularly the Best Hunting app, I still look at some and compare. I also use Hunt Stand for the wind direction for choosing the stand I will hunt. Like said above, most are feed times based on moon phase. Solunar tables.

Yes the app I mentioned earlier does that too and has a "scent cone" it uses to display the direction. Its stores locations on it as well. I have been using it for about two months now.

Solunar tables are usually based on the moon, with major movement times being moon set and moon rise. Minor periods are moon overhead and moon underfoot. They have nothing to do with current weather conditions or the impact of the weather.
Other apps like Windchecker or Huntstand are really pretty worthless, but they are neat so hunters like them. After all, have you ever wondered how your phone knows the wind speed and direction where you are hunting? That information comes from the nearest weather station, which is probably miles away! I cant tell you how many times the apps or weather.com or weather underground says the wind is out of the southeast, but at one of my stands it will be blowing out of the north or northwest.

I use scout look and they are pretty close.I love that I can put all my stand locations on it and it will give my "scent cone" for each one.

I misread what you posted originally. I use huntstand's app for other purposes and love it. Time2Hunt is the app I have that I was referring to about the moon phases.

i look at them but honestly I don't give them anything but a glance.

I'm going to hunt when i can hunt. I've seen too many times that someone or something predicted a bad hunt and I've been covered up in deer and other times that you'd call ideal and didn't see a thing.

To me it's one consideration of 10 and for me is usually number 10
