    Thoughts??

Got this guy on cam. It's bow set up with potentially 3 other people sitting on this blind. It's not my primary spot but then again my primary place hasn't produced a deer like this in a few years. I'm only able to hunt my primary spot about once a month but I can hunt this spot several times a week. There was a 10 a little bigger than this shot here last year. Have 8-10 does coming in and 3 smaller deer coming in. So what would you do?

I guess I don't really understand the question, but I would try to shoot him.

So I guess the question is shoot or wait? Lol. But wait knowing that there are 2 other people that could take this deer out of this stand. I mean if personally let him walk if I was the only person hunting this spot. And the area behind the stand is a couple hundred acres that are not hunted at all. Nor is any of the area around that but it's not deer habitat friend so to speak. Basically it's one stand with against the only patch of thick cover for several miles.

Shooting a deer just because someone else may shoot him first seems a bit silly to me. If he's not a "trophy" to you then let him walk.

Then again he may be the only legal deer I see all year too

            Exactly.
            I'd let him walk.

This, but if he's honestly a trophy for you, go for it

I am more of a "one in the hand is better than 2 in the bush" kinda guy so I have a tendency to shoot the first "legal" ( either legal according to law, or to lease rules ) one I see so maybe you shouldnt put too much thought into my opinion

This does/has probably limited me to smaller less impressive deer in the long run, but Im not much of a "trophy" kinda guy anyway.

Yeah I hear you! Same here. But with the gf killing deer too I'm trying to focus more on "trophy" and let her fill the freezer bc anything to her is a trophy! Lol

Never been the type to just shoot a buck to fill a tag. Shoot a doe or cull buck if your lookin for meat. They are legal. That buck in your pick may be "your trophy" next year. Heck, I'm still waiting for my first buck kill. Shot plenty of doe and could have shot many bucks. Just haven't had "my trophy" give me a shot yet and my two sons get first pick over dad.

Do you get a trophy and a management deer? If so does this deer fall into the management category? If he does then take him if he is a trophy on your place then take him.

[emoji23] nah, this isn't a lease or anything. Just a tiny corner to a large lot that backs up to a bigger place. There are three of us and we are able to hunt it but it's close to our office.

If it makes you happy to shoot him then shoot. If not then don't. I wouldn't kill him just to keep someone else from doing it though.

It depends on what type of lease you have. If all are management minded let him go. If it's a brown and down lease bust a cap on him.

If you would be proud to shoot him, then by all means do it. If you're just shooting it to keep someone else from shooting it, then I say no. That deer might be one of the other 2 guys biggest deer ever and would be a trophy to them.
