    WIFI ranger extender recommendation needed

My travel trailer sits just outside of the WIFI range at the campground where I'm keeping it for the season. I can walk with my phone toward the comfort station about 50 yards away and pick up a strong signal halfway there. Then it seems to stay with the phone as I walk back all the way to my site but I lose it inside the trailer. I'm thinking there must be an outdoor booster/repeater that will help me. It's open common space between my trailer and the comfort stations so I can put something on a wooden stake and run an extension cable to set it up inside the existing WIFI range when I'm in camp.

So, anybody have a recommendation for a good product that won't break the bank? BTW, I have zero cell service at the campground, otherwise I'd just use my data plan. I'm not needing to stream or surf, it's just a safety function so my wife and daughter have some means of contacting me when I'm up there.

Well, no replies so maybe I'm the first one here experimenting with this.

I had to go to wally world at lunch and they had a Belkin extender on clearance for $34 so I figured it's worth a try. Gonna run my extension cord however far I need to towards the good signal and park this thing on a wooden stake with an old travel umbrella zip tied to it. Should make some of the old folks at the campground scratch their heads for sure!

The little Belkin works fine on my home network. I did the basic setup then ran an extension cord down my driveway and plugged it in. I can get my network full strength two houses away which is well beyond my base range.

Unfortunately it didn't work at camp. I could get connected but it would not pass through internet access. If I walked up to the house with my phone and connected to the base wifi I had full high speed internet. I'm sure there is just a setting adjustment needed and will research and try again next trip.

I live in an old house (1930) with 12-18" solid brick/plaster walls. I went with a Netgear AC1200 extender. The signal is strong throughout 2 stories and outside. I've not had any issues in the 18 months I've been using it. I tried some cheaper Belkin products with poor signal and constant reboots to keep it going. Ive learned you have to spend some $$ for a solid extender.

Get WiFi where you want it, even hard-to-reach places, and say goodbye to dead zones and dropped connections. Explore our Wifi range extenders here.
