my brother is wanting to sell his springfield armory GI-45 3". its 2 years old, less than 100 rounds through it, and in perfect condition. got an idea on what it should go for or where he could look to find the value and going prices on them?

Have you tried GunBroker.com?

I know the GI models are not terribly expensive to begin with. Are you looking to carry it for concealed carry? If not, I would opt for the full size models. The compact models can be very finicky at times.

Check gunbroker and see what they are going for. I would say a used GI probably won't bring more than $400 or so, but that's a guess. A full sized 1911 will generally serve you better, be more accurate, and more reliable. But that's not ALWAYS the case.
