I have close calls with deer every trip to the lease. It's just a matter of time until I connect on one. I want opinions on full front replacements on 1/2 ton trucks. I have a 2006 FX4 Supercrew. Do they cause front end alignment problems and tire wear? Would I need a leveling kit added also with the extra weight? Any pros and cons would be appreciated along with any brand recommendations.

Ive got a buddy with a 2010 FX4 who has a full front end on his pickup. Hasn't had any problems so far with it, hes had it 2 years. He did level it but im not sure it was out of necessity. His is a ranchand I believe and we hit a deer on bond road in sonora with it and it held up great. The deer didnt look quite so good -
I have had a ranch hand full replacement on my half ton 2005 fx4 since the day it came off the lot. I put a leveling kit on it as well. Zero issues with front end or tiresComment

I had a RH Summit series on my 05 Chevy halfton. I don't remember having any issues with the front end. The summit is a lighter bumper than the pipe bumpers.Comment

My brother in law put a full replacement on his f150 and his only complaint was a fuel mileage drop. He smoked a deer one night though and figured it was worth it. I'm still debating putting one on my 1500.Comment

Frontier gear has one that weighs about 100lbs more than a grill guard. Take off weight of factory number and really not that big of a deal.Comment
