    First Point Jan 2-5

Pulled the trigger and booked a hunt a first point January 2-5. I know it's gonna be tough but will be fun also. Any advice would be appreciated. I know the no piles of corn and brush in good with no fresh cut limbs pointed where you are hunting. Anything else? Are any pastures better than the other? how do they assign pastures?

Unless something has changed, they assign pastures at random.

There are some very good brush blinds in place for every wind scenario.

What pastures are good? What's the best way to scout?

Not a lot of time to scout. Pastures are random. Lts if very smart deer.

I have been trying to get there for 3 yrs, but something always came up.
But this year I am going Dec.1-5.
I read a thread 3 yrs ago and it has stuck with me about First Point.
"Ask Bo, he will help you any way he can to have a successful hunt". So my plan is control my scent take some corn "Ask Bo" and have a good time.

They are all good. Some I would rather not get but some would disagree and like them. If it's dry would drag the roads as soon as u get there and find some where u can see a long ways preferably in multiple directions. I would put sticks in the center of the road at distances if u do not have a range finder that will reach out there accurately. That way u can tell approximately where they come out so u can look in that area the best day. As short as your hunt is I would still burn the first evening an me morning scouting. If u have a couple video cameras I would also put those out after the buggy runs (so Bo doesn't crush them) and record a shorter distance road. Good luck and post up what pasture u get. Someone on here will be able to help point u in a good direction and yes listen to Bo he sees the deer every day driving the feed route and won't steer u wrong.

I would also run a tailgate feeder in the morning just make sure u mash on it and get the corn out sparsely u will see how Bo drives and match it

Bo is part NASCAR driver, part Fast and Furious Uvalde Drift.
