What's Up With This Buck?

Not enough humidity in west Texas to grow moss! Dirt on the place is red clay, so I don't think he could have rolled in something. I think he was a big 3 1/2-4 1/2 year old last year with his left antler broken off at about 4 inches and the other side a high 4 points. Not the greatest picture to judge age, but any ideas? Don't have a front or side view on camera yet.

Wasn't worried about a health issue. He is definitely thinking about fighting to be #1. Sure has his antlers in beautiful condition for the rut.
