13 pointer down but coyotes got there 1st.

I shot this buck yesterday morning. So after I shot the 13 pointer with my Excaliber Matrix Crossbow, I wanted to wait 30 minutes before I got down from my treestand to go after him. After 20 minutes I had 3 other deer come within sight so I had to wait about 40 more minutes for them to move out of my immediate area. Below is a picture showing the carnage they did. That is his tail to the left of him.

That sucks, must of fell near the yots, but if I know If I have a deer down I don't care what's around I'm out and looking, going to make all kind of noise anyway when gutting and getting it out. Never seen dogs work that fast.

Years ago that happened to me in Mexico. Shot a buck from the truck pretty long range. Parked and changed clothes and got my cleaning gear ready and chugged a gatorade then walked out there, already lost a ham by the time I got to him. **** things always go for the hams. :/
