Duck Season

Regular season is sneaking up quickly. I've not seen a single duck on any of our tanks on our lease. I know it's been warm but we normally have ducks mid Oct that start hanging out. Anyone else seeing anything?

Handful of woodies last week on some small ponds. Couple mud ducks the other day. Not much to speak of

We open next weekend here in the HPMMU and I'm not seeing much at all, but we have more water and grain both, so I suspect they are scattered more than normal

Did ALOT of scouting yesterday. Saw a decent amount of ducks & a few specks. Looking real slim right now. Not near what we normally see at this time.

I wonder how many in the North Zone have not noticed that it opens the 2nd weekend in November rather than the first this year. Already talked to some people that haven't read up and didn't have a clue. I'll bet there will be some sky busting a week early this year lol

I'm sure the game wardens will be out in force just for that reason. You get what you deserve for not reading up every year I guess.

There has been a huge raft of ducks fly over the house every evening but no clue where they're roosting

We have a bunch of bar bellies around here. Ive seen some decent numbers of gadwalls & pintails in the few fields with water but that's about it.

I suspect it'll be a few more weeks before we get steady numbers up here. As usual this time of year, starting to cross my fingers for some rain to get water in the woods! We'll probably pump our woods in two weeks.
