When is the rut in southeast Texas?

I'm without a lease this year, and I've only hunted deep northeast Texas in years past. My uncle has been nice enough to let me hunt his 40 acres this year in Nome, and I was curious as to when the rut starts in that area. Any information would be appreciated.

Right now. Well last Tuesday to be exact.

That's what I was afraid of. He let me know I could hunt out there two weeks after bow season had started, and I wasn't really prepared for and it isn't really set up well for a bow set. He cut me a nice lane in some thick stuff, but I don't have a good place for a bow stand. Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky during the secondary rut.

Thursday evening I had pictures on a big body deer pushing a doe all over a pipeline in front of my camera. This is in sour lake.

Thanks for the info, everyone. My buddy stuck a buck Wednesday, but it had another buck with it, so I was trying to hold out a little hope.
