    Stump the Hunter Question

Heres the set up: I had a Moultrie feeder that worked for about 6-7 years then it finally froze up. Had good luck with that one so I purchased a newer model and installed it. Worked fine.
Was in my stand this morning and feeder didn't go off. After I got down I went and checked my batteries. Read out showed 100%. Actually changed out batteries a few weeks back.
Now I would have to tear down the feeder to remove motor. Not an option. So Im thinking no feeder, no deer for my son.
Heres the question: What would happen if I quit messing with feeder motors all together and put a protein attachment on the bottom instead?
Would the deer literally drain the feeder everytime they came?
Would they eat only at night?
Or, would they stay on their regular pattern of showing themselves in the morning and evening ? Not saying they don't move all day.
    What say Ye green screen?

Only thing that will change is timing of feed being available. They will not drain it in one feeding. Hogs however can eat A LOT very quickly. Be sure to keep the funnel high enough off the ground out of reach of pigs but reachable for Deer. My mature bucks prefer a gravity feed over timed spinner. Not sure why but they do. They could only feed at night but if there hungry they know they can come get food anytime at your open buffet! Good luck!

Varmits will drain it for you . Coons, squirrels and birds will have a field day.

its the regular feeder height. Bout six feet to bottom of varmit cage. Coons would have to hang onto feeder attachment with one paw while feeding with other or get on top of tubes and reach over. Surely there are folks on here with unguarded protein feeders. Not sayin they won't though.

I don't guard mine and they do get food. They are smart bandits! Duke traps work well if you have a varmint problem.
