                Game Warden Field Notes

I should have been on these a few times in my younger years but I must have got a great warden who just issued a warning.

One was back around 93 when my dad and I where rabbit hunting off the county dirt roads and the wardens stopped us. I was 11 or 12 at the time and they said what we were doing was illegal but they were not going to ticket us and they were looking for people spotlighting deer but not to do it anymore. The other time I shot a doe earlier in the year and didn't tag it and I got checked by a warden at star lake duck hunting. He started the small talk asking how the season was going and my dumb arse said great and I told him about the doe I had killed. He then asked to see my license and asked why I hadn't tagged that deer[emoji15]. He then taught me a lesson and just made me fill out my tag for that deer. It's been 19 years since I've had any problems with the game warden. I'm not gonna lie but I'm horrible about tagging my deer. I get so nervous and excited that I don't usually tag them till I get back to the camp now. I always tag them 100% of the time but it seems to be when I close the cooler and go oh chit I need to tag it.

Ha! They flew in front of the skeet they were shooting.....yeah...all 8 of them! I think if I was the warden on that one, I'd have had to let those boys off on a warning because I'd have peed myself laughing so hard at that. I'd have to go get some clean breeches on! Hilarious.

Great work getting those folks off of the bank and out of the Sulphur River safely. Grew up around there, and that Blackland Prairie mud is almost impossible to deal with.
