Is it any good? Is the disc good enough that you don't need a separate implement for intensive discing?

It all depends on your soils. if you have sandy or loamy soils then they typically work fine. However, if your soils are rich in iron ore or clay then the plotmaster ATV models typically don't have the weight to disc effectively. These are just some variables to consider. The best place to start IMO is to evaluate how difficult your soils are to disc. Is there any compaction issues. If so then a plotmaster type ATV disc may not be very effective.

All you need is a tractor, King Kutter Rototiller 5ft, a Harrow, atv seed spreader, bush hog, and Roundup.
For an area, Spray with Roundup, bush hog all weeds down a week or so later, Then let it rain, Till with Rototiller, spread your seeds, then drag a harrow from Tractor Supply over it. I like Buck Forage Oats in the fall. Spring plots are tuff, I put my money in Protein.

I had one that I pulled behind the 4 wheeler
It did a good job
However I have a tractor and some implements. Made more sense to sell the plot aster and invest in a few more implements rather than something I would only use twice a year
Also for compacted soil it was not the best. I broke the places I intended to plant up with a tractor prior to using the plotmaster the first time. After that you could use the plotmaster after a good mowing
It did good enough on previously planted ground that it would stop the 500 4x4 4 wheeler at times and I would have to drop the tires down to get going again
My soil is sandy loam for reference
