    Primos Wind App Question

I downloaded the Primos wind app. One problem. The map that comes up on my phone is not top North oriented...its top East oriented. (Top of the map is East).

This is driving me crazy as I have always looked at maps top North orientation and trained my brain accordingly. Anyone had any luck changing the orientation of the map??

NVM. It seems to follow the way my phone is facing. It was locked up and not moving for the longest time, hence my original question. This will take some getting used to I guess.

I usually rotate the screen to point to where it says the wind is coming from.

I use my whiz app. Whiz while turning in a circle. When you feel spray that is the direction that the wind is coming from.

I was about to tell you that. By the way, try the HuntStand app, very useful as well. Has wind direction cone and lots of other useful gadgets. Will show you the wind direction cone for a few days or per hour.

            This

Then there is no confusion as to which way the wind is coming. Rotate the phone till the arrow on top points toward the wind arrows and you will be facing directly into the wind at that point. Very easy.

Don’t update your phone if you want to use this app. I did and the app will not work. It needs to be updated by the app maker. Lol. iOS 11

I don't trust apps for the most part. I trust my puff bottle almost as much as I trust a hog's nose though.

You got a bottle of puff in your blind?

I use the app daily when heavy into pig hunting. I already know which direction the wind should be blowing out of, but this app had a satellite view and shows wind direction at the same time. I’ve used it to help me set up new stand/feeder locations according to wind and terrain via the satellite image. Do I really need it? No...but I think it has helped.

This comes from the man who stacked pigs like cord wood all summer. That much success only comes from doing it right.

Hunt stand app has been most accurate wind direction indicator

                        But like DryCreek3189 I carry a powder indicator (or 2 or 3)

Weather channel app, local news and another hunting app have been wrong a lot so I never even look at them

Sucks to think wind is going to work for a morning hunt only to have wind hit you from the oust direction possible about 5min before legal shooing time

Last time I sat my blind I consulted three different apps. All had it wrong ! Puffed some powder, pulled out and went to the house. That would be AFTER the deer smelled me and the pigs grunted from the woods. I agree that most of the time one or more of them are ok, but I still don't trust them.
