Gassed up the truck this morning and I got my 3mpg back! I think they have made the switch to the "winter formula". Now before y'all start in on the "You changed your driving habits" and stuff like that, I have changed nothing. I drive the same speeds as close as possible, drive the same roads every day, been running the a/c in this 90deg weather, etc.. When I get home from work, we use my wifes car to go places. The truck is back and forth to work only. I hand calculate using gallons used and mileage with my GPS. I jumped from 15mpg to 18mpg. It happens every year. Next year when the "summer formula" get put in, my mileage will drop back down.

Just like not one brand of motor oil is the same. Mobil 1 formula rarely switches, where a castrol will change as commodity prices change, often once a month.

Plus, I haven't had A/C in it it since 2006 or 2007. Sure wish I did some times. But I'd have to change out the whole system to get something that works half way decent. I did start by taking out the screwed up condenser in the front so the radiator could get better air flow 3 weeks ago, when changing out the water pump and having the radiator rebuilt for a second time. That old R12 compressor that's been froze up for so long is coming off pretty soon.
