the way I have interpreted the law is if there is visible light transmitted, it is illegal.

It is 100% legal to use while hunting deer in Texas, however you can not enter a buck into Pope and Young if you kill the deer while using this on your bow.

this item has been around for several years. the laser is only used for range finding, not sighting/aiming so it is legal.

Nursejenn thinks systemnt is not doing this correctly. However nursejenn agrees with systemnt's statement above... nursejenn will finish hwr thought below...

Nursejenn asked a GW about this a few years ago. Nursejenn was told to ask the GW in the county nursejenn hunts in because the GW said the law was up for interpretation since there is a visible laser, even though not used for aiming... said GW told nursejenn HE wouldn't interpret it as illegal.

I talked with a GW years ago when these first came out. If the laser (visible or invisible) is attached to the weapon then it is technically illuminating the animal and is illegal.

Personally I do not want to be that trial case.

You should add a Hog light and a video camera and you'd really have it covered!

I thought you couldn't enter a deer into the record books using one on your bow. whats the difference with one on your bow vs hand held one? when the vendetta came out and Pigman was using one, I saw three being set up at wolf outdoors in Athens.
