Lefty shooting a right handed rifle ?

Like said above, it doesn't matter which hand the rifle is, proper shooting technique and he'll be good to go! I have several friends that are south paws and they shoot and buy right handed rifles.

The movie saving private Ryan, the sniper Jackson, is left handed using a right handed rifle and he pulls off some crazy shots!

He'll be fine. If he gets into the bolt rifles I would recommmend getting a lefty. I shot right bolts all my life and still do in the Army, but picked up a few lefty bolt guns after shooting a buddy's. it's something I noticed after seeing how much faster righties are with follow up shots (Army) than I was or other lefties because we have to pick up our head to avoid the bolt. Also the bolt is operated with our support hand which balances the rifle instead of the trigger hand. Depending on the optic eye relief it's possible to operate the bolt with the left hand by reaching over but most optics don't have the eye relief for that.
