What is your situation? I'm not a chemical guy but I sell application equipment for a living. If you are spraying pasture and want sand burs and really any other broadleaf killed, you will be wasting your money. All weeds have seeded out by now so your best bet is to come back over it in the early spring with a premergent and kick them before they get a chance to get started. Where do you live? I can put you in touch with a reputable chemical rep if you want?
What do you spray for weeds and what time of year.
I want grass not weeds like Dallas grass, burrs
Thank u for imput
This time of year? As in October? It is too late to spray. Unless you plan to spray Roundup.
Spray around Feb 15 with Prowl H2O for the pre-emergent for sandburs.
Spray around mid April with Pastora for sandburs.
Spray around mid April for Bahia, Dallis grass, etc.
Prowl is also a pre-emergent for other weeds and Pastora will take care of other weeds, but I can't recall if Pastora will knock out Bahia, etc.
Then, within 3-5 days of cutting hay, spray Pastora to prevent the second seed generation of sand burs.
The other chemicals mentioned above are not rated for sand burs. Cimmeron, Cimmeron Max will handle Bahia for you but it is not rated for sand burs.

I am pretty sure Pastora will kill Bahia and it will even kill Johnson Grass as well. its some of the best stuff on the market for use in Bermuda/costal meadows.
Not sure but a lot of Dallas grass burrs wildflowers
you may need to Gly and start over. if weeds are what is predominate, if you spend the money for a selective herbicide, it will just kill the majority of everything anyway. if its really that bad off, you may just start over in the spring.
Pastora does well on the sand burrs but it will knock your bermuda grass back some. Worth it to get rid of the sand burrs. Grazon for pretty much everything else and I'd go ahead and spray glyphosate once the bermuda is good and dormant just for good measure.
Ruark - 2 to 4 pts per acre. There is also a 45 day grazing restriction. I thought the BASF guy said they had cleared that, but I'll check with him again.
It is very effective. I couldn't get into my pastures to spray Pastora in April due to the rain, but I didn't have any sandburs until after my first cutting. I couldn't get back in to spray because the hogs tore up my pasture and my tractor broke down.
I'm wondering if I should burn off the pasture this winter, after the Bermuda goes dormant and then lightly drag it to smooth it. Does anyone think burns will cut down the sandburs?
I can tell you we had grass burrs around the shop real bad and burning didn't do anything. Round upping them just made for better conditions for grass burrs.
