I have been in here for many, many years back when there were just a couple of hundred of us. Back then the VE was the ultimate honor to get, now since crash and huge surge in membership this site has losr some of its personal appeal. There are many first timers and children on here making a first kill. Can we not give them that satisfaction and reward of a job well done. Lets all get together and give them a big welcome to the fire and congrats for joining and enjoying this great passion of ours instead of griping because its not 20 years old and scores 200 inches. Lets all get together and make a trophy for our youth and beginners to remember their first or best harvest by.

Only been around for a few years compared to most and I concur that if someone is posting their first deer kill or really any kill for that matter they should be congratulated... No need to impose their own management ideal on others and down play an accomplishment such as a first kill IMHOComment

Look at Docmays thread apparently he can spend more in a season than most of us make in a year hunting,but he loaned his crossbow to a little girl to kill an awesome buck. This is where this site should be, nothing else matters.Comment

ANY critter with a bow is a trophy
Also what I might consider a trophy may not be a trophy to you or anyone else. I don't really care what anybody thinks about what I kill (ie it wasn't old enough, wasn't big enough etc) but I know a bunch of people have been turned off of this site by the comments that a few have made about something they were proud ofComment

And as I sit here scrolling thru the threads I see a lot of firsts and many people saying congrats, so I am not hammering on anyone in particular. Lets just push a little harder to make everyone feel welcome, we are heading into an era where the furure is not clear and we need to all band together.Comment
