Hell all this time I just thought it was plain old bird hunting. Didn't realize it's mode of transportation mattered. I'll go standing bird, flying bird, running bird, bird in a wheelchair, bird on a unicycle, bus or plane hunting. Doesn't matter to me. It's still hunting and it's legal so I'm good .
I learned something new. I don't know why I just figured pot shooting is illegal in Texas too. It don't matter to me as long as it's legal. I don't guess they taste any better shot out of the air so I don't know what difference it makes. Apparently someone in Oklahoma thought it was better to do it that way.

Different types of terrain and Different characteristics to the game birds. I won't shoot a pheasant on the ground, nor waterfowl. Runners, like blues, are a different animal lol
Blues don't always fly and they run like a jack rabbit making shooting them on the ground just as sporting as when they fly. It's like a shooting range and your trying to shoot in the open spots between the brush at something that's moving very fast.
yep the bobs are lazy little fat birds that would rather not fly and dang sure don't wanna run once they are out breath from flying, those blues must be crossed up with a Canadian honker and roadrunner I swear. They will fly forever and run till dark!
Me and a bil were dove hunting on a cousins place in Van Zandt Co. one Saturday, and we noticed a lot of doves going to roost on our friend Larry's place next door. So we called Larry that night and asked, he said sure, go ahead and hunt. Well the next afternoon we went, and his gate was locked, and before we had a chance to cross the fence, doves started flying in. So we just sat there by his gate in the road and shot quite a few. Well, I look up and here comes the game warden. He drives up and gets out, so first thing I tell him we have permission from Larry. He said fine, do ya'll mind if I shoot with ya'll? We of course said sure, and we all 3 got limits before dark. There I figured we were going to get ticketed for road hunting, and all we did was meet a good guy.
Oh, and if you don't ground shoot blue quail, you aint killing very many. We used to drive the ranch road on a place with a dune buggy with elevated seats, and when we came up on a bunch in the road, the 2 guys in the elevated seats would open up. Then you watch the covey and see how they land. If they land together, let them go. But if they scatter, go to where they went down, they hold a lot better, and you can pick up a few singles. Where we were hunting, the bobs acted just like the blues
