Has anyone used water softener salt pellets as a mineral lick for deer? I thought I had read about on this but i couldnt find it using the search tool.

I've never used them, but they work. Average mineral is 90% salt anyway. Just make sure there's nothing added to the salt by the mfg. I got a buddy who adds powdered kool-aid to his mineral sites. Swears the deer love it.

I will take some of the small fist size pieces out of the cattle mineral feeder and throw around my stand, but not sure if I have ever seen a deer use them.Comment
