Just pretend like you are hunting a monster buck and they'll show up to ruin your hunt.

This. I wouldn't change anything right before a hunt. A week or so I might change it up with jello powder, but not right before.

If you are confident they are in the area I would stick to corn. We have a place where they come through about once or twice a wk and have found if we take a post hole digger and burry some corn with a little coolaid powder on top they will hang around for hrs on in trying to get down to that sweet smell.

Strawberry jello powder, no water needed.

Orange scent (actual oranges or kool aid or jello or syrup)
                        Cherry scent (ditto)
                        Apple scent (ditto)
                        Grape scent (ditto)
                        Sugar syrup (ditto)

                        Get the idea?

People laugh at me, but fresh dug dirt pulls them in, too. If I have trouble getting them in to a trap, I will dig up the dirt around the trap and throw it in the trap and then put fresh corn down. That night, I will trap hogs.

Years ago, I was in a tree stand and used a earth scent wafer for Thermacell and within about 10 minutes of turning it on, hogs came in. The next night, I was in a pop up ground blind that have multiple holes in it, but within 20 minutes of using that wafer, a hog was trying to come under the blind to get in. I've told a few people about this and they claim the same results as me.

Freshly dug earth is a great attractor for several species. When trapping predators, a big fresh dirt hole with dirt scattered about will catch just about anything that finds it. For hogs, I would think fresh dirt would represent a recently uncovered food source.

This, you will more then likely scare them then bring them in if you put anything out that they are not used to. Stay with corn and I wouldn't even put out any extra corn unless you can do it several hours before they come in and even then, you don't want to pile it up, spread it out good. I've had hogs bust me from putting out too much corn. They were used to just the corn from the feeder and when they saw all that extra corn it threw up a red flag to them and they left.
