Found out today that Mr. Calhoun who processed deer last year may not be doing it this year...

Trying to find another place thats recommended.

I've been using the Country Meat Market on Front St. (Hwy 31) just inside the East Loop in Tyler for a number of years, they usually do a pretty good job.

What dont you like about them? We have a fail safe that we can use but we never know what we are going to get back.

A friend of ours told us about a place in Mt. Enterprise.

I am spoiled... I was using a guy name Roy Telles (I Think thats his last name) that lives in Pearsall, Tx. That man knows his stuff. Perfect everytime.

pojay, Wright Brothers grocery/meatmarket in Harleton... Marty Wright (Durocab on here). They do an excellent job; clean, no junk, and they run the steaks through a cutlet machine. You won't be disappointed.

If you don't want to drive to Harleton, try Tevebaugh's out on north Pine Tree rd in Longview, but my first choice is Wright Bros.

Buck wild in Kilgore is also doing processing. I think that they are about the cheapest around.

I know it's not for everyone but you should really try processing it yourself. You get what you want and YOU KNOW IT'S YOUR DEER, cleaner meat as you can then take the time to pull all the silver skin and fat out etc... I make as much sausage and hamburger as I want, cut the steaks as I want, package it all up in the sizes and counts that I deem 'proper' for me and my family.

                      Thanks Mr. B!

I hope he did not come out Sunday PM as I had to turn folks away. We were packed on no place to hang deer. We try to keep numbers that we can handle and if I can't hang a deer I will not take it. I will have guys working their buttus offus this week so we can get back to a reasonable pickup time. Tevebaughs is a great place and I'm sorry to hear that Calhuon has cancer and not doing them this year. I saw him at Academy and he can use all our prayers. He is one fine gentleman and I told him he would have a job with me anytime one he gets the cancer licked.

Pearsall is a long durn way to haul a deer to have it processed.

I pass that place in Mt Enterprise every time I go to the lease but I have not used him. I think it is Odum's.

Last year I used a place in Golden, P&B Game processing I believe. Sausage and summer sausage were great

Your right its a long way. I was actually hunting in Dilley so it was a bit closer. Always made for a good excuse to make it back down there.

But if anyone is down that way Roy does a bang up job.

I always use Wright Bros. as well. I'm sure Marty doesn't remember me, but I've been in half a dozen times, including the last weekend of bow season this year. Going back for my smoked sausage soon I hope...Marty :-).
