    Darton 3800 Chronographed

    2014 Darton 3800 at 68# 31" draw

100gr field point- 443-445gr total arrow weight- 306 fps
125gr field point- 470gr total arrow weight- 297 fps

The guys at Archery Country chrono'd my setup. I really only chrono'd to see how fast the arrows were flying to calculate momentum.

With the 100gr heads the arrow is about 6.566gpp and 10.685% FOC.
With the 125gr heads the arrow is about 6.935gpp and 12.7% FOC.

I use the Beman ICS Hunters 300 31" 9.5gpi (for both 100&125 tips). Blazer vanes. S-nock. 21gr aluminum inserts.

Im new to building and tinkering with arrows and no scale that reads in grains. Pardon my arithmetic if off.

Im happy. I sent my bow to Darton to get restrung a couple months ago. It came back with thinner yoke cables than initially installed and it feels faster than before. The 100&125 have same point of impact out to 30 yards then at 40 yards I get a 4" greater drop on the 125gr tip than 100gr tips.

Figured Id share for those slightly interested in Darton. Darton restringing took 2days, in the shop and out. Real nice folk.

The folks at Darton build great stuff and when you call, real people answer the phone. Nice, helpful, friendly people.

Yep. It was kinda nice talking to the same person when I called or when I was called.

The FOCs were calculated off 446.5gr for 100gr and 471.5gr for 125gr tips. Conversion of grams to grains. 1 gram = 15.432 grains. Using kitchen digital scale.

Momentum of my arrows with my bow:
        125gr broadhead total arrow weight 470gr at 297fps is 2.76 kg•m/s
        100gr broadhead total arrow weight 445gr at 306fps is 2.69 kg•m/s

I dont reckon a deer will feel the difference. It might help a tad more penetrating hogs.
