    Rain & Bows

There is a rain coming through Wednesday so I plan on hunting all day that day this week. My question is what is the proper care when getting your bow wet? Only my second year bow hunting and never gotten one wet so don't really know how bad for the strings/limbs water can be.

I have sat thru many rainstorms in an open tree stand. I keep wax on the string and dry the bow off with a towel when the rain stops. Never had a problem.

Same with me, except I usually forget to keep wax on my string and I usually forget to towel the water off when the rain stops.....so not the same at all, it seems....but I still have never had a problem.

Make sure your string/cables are waxed properly and let it rain, rain, rain. Wipe the bow down with a dry rag when you get back and allow it to hang. Vegetable oil works well on the heads of fasteners to prevent surface oxidation. Your equipment is designed to work and a variety of inhospitable conditions so no worries.
