Reciever hitch carrier

What do yall use? Looking at getting hitch put on jeep patriot(i know not manly jacked up truck, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do). Want to be able to put a big cooler or a couple small ones on it, or possibly a deer or hog if i get lucky and shoot one around the house.

I like my Cabelas brand carrier. Little more expensive but seems more sturdy than others.

Check your local craigs list. I have the basic one. No sides, but will hold plenty.

I like my hitch haul. About 25 years old ?
Open ends with short sides. Get the biggest size.
Heavy animals just get dragged over the end.

This is the most important question to ask before you purchase. There is no doubt that you will need to access the rear hatch so make sure it will clear while it's loaded.

I used to travel with a custom built unit that my BIL owns. It was built in Uvalde about 25 years ago and designed to hold 5 - 48 qt coolers perfectly. It's a beast and will hold a lot of weight. He got tired of me borrowing it and bought me one from Harbor Freight last year. It's nice and light but not what he owns, lol.

I was fortunate that I had an older full size plastic truck box that was waterproof and lockable and it fit into that big basket along with a small cooler. That setup covered many thousands of miles.

I'm buying one of these for my golf cart.

I already own one of the harbor freight aluminum ones that is holding up very well.
