Ticks and meat allergy

Never heard of this. I already hated ticks. Can't imagine this scenario...eating a hot dog and almost dying and never eating meat again.

About 12 years ago, shortly after getting back from Iraq, I couldn't eat pork. I spent alot of time in the brush then and got bit by more than a few ticks. I didn't develops hives but had trouble breathing and my stomach would let loose, both ends, for the rest of the day/night.
Took 8 years before I could eat pork again and even then, I stuck with wild pork. My nephew recently started going through the same. Going to have bin get checked for this.
