Shoot rooters quartering away, and aim LOWER like everyone else said. Do NOT aim for the shoulder(you'll be asking for trouble).

Just shoot em with Rage Broadheads and you wont lose the blood trail. I have shot 7 deer and 3 hogs in the 120lb range and have not lost any yet. Blood trails are the last thing you have to worry about shootin these heads

Yep, aim low... Sounds like maybe you are hitting them too high.

Wait til they quarter away. Shoot them on a hard quartering shot and they die quick. Wife has killed a few no loss and my kid shoots them with a x-bow this way- here are two pics and notice the entrances.

Real low and tight behind the shoulder. If your hunting from a tripod or elevated seat, keep in mind you even have to aim lower.

tight to the shoulder will work but remember the margin or error is very small as the shield is there for a reason.

Use a string tracker, no more loss.

I always imagine they are wearing a ear ring and shoot the ear ring they wont take a single step
