    When to go?

New to hunting 125 acres in montgomery county basically a large rectangle, have a deer cabin on south end and several stands in middle and north side. Mostly wooded with mowed paths 15-25 feet wide leading around property and clearings at feeders. Question, would it be okay to spend night or better to enter and hunt? Only 1:15 hours away.

Less human presence on a property is always better but you would be ok staying the night imo. Wind will be out of the N/NW this weekend I believe so that'll help

Staying on site wont hurt the hunting, as long as people are not partying. Lol. I like staying, makes it more of a event for the kids. Ive done both.

The only time I could understand not spending the night would be if you were targeting a specific deer and had evidence that your presence on the property changed his behavior.

Remember, we do this for the experiences, and deer camp is a huge part of that.

Spend the night! I've killed deer less than 100 yards from camp with music going and the smell of fried chicken in the air.

                        Spend the night

Growing up we use to hunt around 200 acres in Bandera and would spend the night out there all the time. My Blind was about 1/4 mile from camp off the main road driving in to the property, so you would pass behind it driving in. I would see deer all the time weather we stayed the night or just drove in that morning. Just make sure you're in the blind and settled AT LEAST an hour before legal shooting time to make sure everything settles down.

Sometimes I think people give deer more credit than they are due.

They deserve credit for loving the smell of fried chicken.
