    Any Sheridan TX Hunters ?

Just wanting to see how many guys hunt Sheridan, TX or close by, per our pics the deer look few and far between at our place. Of course we got more pigs than a **** pig farm!!! Just wanted to see what other in the are had going on.

    Thanks

I live down the road in Rock Island. I have plenty of doe on my place but I've only seen one buck so far this year. I believe it's because of the huge amounts of rain in the area this year and they just aren't hitting the feeders yet. There's plenty of other things for them to eat. I would say that you have plenty of deer, just not on camera.

I hunt near there. Haven't checked my camera since putting it up, but I understand the cows are having fun with it. Seems the range is in pretty good condition and the deer may not be hitting the corn very much.

I've had them camped out on the protein all year but that is about to change I'm sure when the acorns start dropping. South of Sheridan on 2437

Our first year on lease in Sheridan. Have had some pretty nice bucks on camera this summer but hadn't checked cameras last couple weeks and acorns have started dropping. Headed up Friday night, so we'll see what's hanging out Saturday morning.

                    Green might be an understatement!!

Our protein feeder has not been hit since we set it up 5 months ago!!!

Not a good sign for deer, pigs are everywhere!!

Put a corn feeder in with the protein feeder, when I first put mine up it went untouched for months until I put a corn feeder in the pen. Since then the deer eat it fast as I can fill it.

I hunt north of Sheridan on 273. Does and fawns on camera for August deer count. One buck total in August. Plenty green and hogs feeding during the day may keepin deer away. Hope to check camera this weekend, won't get to hunt due busy schedule. I know there are bucks around just missing for now. Need a freeze and some rain on the acorns.

Hunt off Lake Sheridan Rd. Had some nice bucks up until 3 weeks ago. Now just hogs and coyotes. Yes .. coyotes are feeding off the corn feeders

I work down is Sheridan, but hunt between Weimar and Columbus not far from I-10. The acorns have started to fall, and there are a lot of the this year, Pin Oak, Post Oak, and our Live Oaks are loaded.
Just a thought, remember back to 2011 we basically had a zero percent fawn crop, this means you will see very few mature deer (Over 4.5) if you are managing the property and only looking for mature bucks. Look hard, I have seen pictures of some tremendous bucks throughout the county that do have the age, however they are few and far.

Thanks guys, open weekend not to bad we did see a lot of deer, still nothing really hitting the feeder to hard. As far as bucks we only kill one about every 3 years, we are mld so we do our part in the doe harvest are require.

Had a Game warden show up at the ranch for the first time in 15 years at least very nice lady.
