    What to use my VW TDI Dealership Card on...

    I have a $500 VW dealership card from last year's Goodwill package for those of us impacted by the diesel scandal that I need to spend before it expires.

    Basically it's a $500 gift card that has to be used by me at a VW dealership on parts, merch or service. I don't need any service on my VW but I don't want this $500 to go to waste.

    What's the best thing that I can purchase and turn around and sell on craigslist so maybe I can get $450 cash out of this deal?

    All I can come up with so far is tires....

      Read the fine print and Make sure you're not giving up any rights by cashing it.

        Oh, so they give you a gift card that has to be used at their dealership? Wow, sounds like they are just writing a check to themselves.
        Any parts that go bad on those cars you could buy and then sell on E-bay or something? I am not familiar with them enough to know.

          Not sure what the going rate is for the amplified antennas on MK4 VW's these days. But when I used to travel to Mexico on business I would buy out the dealer in Monterrey and sell them for double what I paid for them and still undercut the US Dealer price by $20.

          Those things died early and often.

            The gift card can be used anywhere a credit card is accepted. There was an additional $500 gift that could be used at a VW dealership.

                they offered me one of those cards too, but I didn't take it thinking they were trying to weesil outta the overall cruddy deal...too bad...I'm still gonna sell it back to them though...just waiting...sorry for the derail...hehehe...I'd buy a yakima rack for the top
