    Water well questions

How far does a water well have to be from the lateral lines for a septic system.

I think that will be a county specific rule. But... the farther the better. From your septic and also your neighbors. Check with your county. Should be online.

I believe it has to be 50 feet.

50 feet is for public water systems per tceq rules I believe. Trying to go off the top of my head.

When I did mine 18 years ago, 150' is what they told me, and 150' from property line. But thats out here in the sticks where everything was a 3ac minimum lot size.

it will vary depending if your well is encased or not.

I will be getting both installed soon and was told they have to be 100 ft apart unless the water well is cemented all the way down. If so than can be as close as 50 ft but the septic guy said to keep it 60 to 70 ft apart
