A thermal scope can be had for 3K or less nowadays. If you go with an outfitter more than a two or three times then you nearly halfway there. Just a thought.

What quality scope do you recommend under $4k that is GOOD.....and won't need upgrading?

Armasight Zeus 336 42mm or Pulsar Apex 38A or 50A

Can get better deals lightly used. In fact I have a buddy that is selling a used 38A and a almost new 50A and both of them would be 3 or less. I think like 2700 for the 38.

ATN came out with some thermal sights that start around 2 but I think the jury is still out on whether or not they're reliable. The Pulsars are extremely reliable though as are the Armasights.
