    My daughter is 8 does she just need a regular hunting license to deer hunt this year?

    She needs youth hunting license. I believe it's $7

        Cool she's been practicing with a crossbow one of my hunters gave her last year. Gonna try and get her first deer or maybe two.

          Yes they have to have a texas youth hunting license which can be purchased online for 7 dollars and they must have hunters education buy the time they turn 9 years of age

            Yes sir. Kids hunt cheap until they are 16 or 17. $7.00. They will ask for her SS # for the first time she gets a license. Then it's on file so you won't get ask again.

              Not true sir. Minimum age to take is 9. As long as they are accompanied (until the age of 16) they are not required to have hunter education.

                Straight from the regs.

                Hunting License

                A hunting license is required of any person, regardless of age, who hunts any animal, bird, frog or turtle in Texas (except furbearers, if the hunter possesses a trapper's license.) See Hunting Licenses and Permits.
                •No license is required for nuisance fur-bearing animals, depredating hogs or coyotes.
                •Non-residents under 17 years of age may purchase and hunt with the Youth Hunting License.
