Since when is having more animal targets a bad thing?

Do a couple Javi hunts for free. Meet a few TBHers who will most likely help you with anything around the lease.

Someone let me Javi hunt once. I looked down a sendaro and saw 4 javis. He said well go get em...and if you don't kill 4 javis you suck as a hunter. He was serious. He was happy we wanted to kill them. Made new friends. Then they got to turkey hunt with us. Ended up a good trade.

          Only got 1 javi BTW

Get a few fellow TBH over to help set up a pen. Let them shoot a javalina or two and you're good to go.

Make a large feed pen, large enough to put your blind in the pen with the feeder, or get an elevated stand and use cattle panel.

Put a cattle panel pen up then cut a window in the panel in your shooting lane. Wire the cut out section back in that way you can fold it down whenever you show up to hunt. Before you leave for the weekend wire it back up.

Use hog panels, if you use cattle panels and cut them down to hog panel height the javelina can and will crawl through the openings in a cattle panel.

We have javelina problems too and a fence will not work, they tore up the bottom and dug under it. We sneak up to feeders with ar's and take out as many as possible and then usually they won't show back up at that feeder for awhile. Get your family/friends to help.

I don't understand the whole honor system of 2 javis per year (if this is still the case)

Javi numbers need to be kept in check like everything else...we are lucky and know plenty of folks who enjoy harvesting & start making calls when we start seeing too many.

Shoot upwards of 1/2 dozen deer a year off your lic, but only 2 javs?? This is absurd in deep s tx...why make rules like this for a state the size of ours when their numbers are in over abundance is many areas??
