    Keep!?!?!?

What in the name of Zeuse's Butthole......is wrong with the Stars???

    I know it's early...

I know they do this every year...

But they look like a sack full of 3/8" bolts and 1/4" nuts! Marty needs to be better, but for the love of God can the deffense quit aborting the puck in his lap! And this team is too experienced to be taking so many dumb penalties....

Even Zubi hasn't gotten them going, AND they got Jere back!!

I'm at a loss, this thing is terrible!

I'm watching right now and I'm at a loss. They don't clog up the nuetural zone like they used to, it seems everyone walks in unchallanged. They can't do that, their game has always been forcing the other team to dump and chase not letting them skate the puck in the zone. The stars were just on a power play and they let the kings skate right to the top of the circle before they stood up the puck handler.

          Fore check!!!!

Is there any merit to the theory that they need a big meat head? I mean a guy who can get physical with some folks, to the point that they get off their game! I know Avery and Ott are supposed to get them on the pp, and I got a serious man crush on Otter. But I'm talkin bout a BIG THUG!

I'd give anything to see Boogard here.....oh boy!

Dallas has always been d first and they seem to be getting away from that. I'm hoping it's from the injuries. Zubov being out stings but what is worse is Juri Lethinen being gone. Both are back and while they can go full speed you still tend to protect and baby that injury so give them a few games.
I still think we will gel towards the end of the season and make the playoffs. If we play strong and ride momentum at the end of the season we will be dangerous.
The most maddening part is the d needs to quit trying to block shots, let Turco see them clean and he'll get them. They have been blocking some and only getting pieces of the puck. That causes problems, it cause the puck to react off of the d-man that only got a piece of it and rarely will a keeper have time to react to that, next it screens the goalie, then it takes the d out of the play/ posistion and they can't recover. (2 yrs ago playoff are the perfect example of this)
The best thing is if you feel the need to go down get all of the puck or just get yourself and you man the hell out of the line of sight.

The rule changes a few years ago that prevented the interference so the ice would open up and the skaters wre slowed/ held up made it a huge liability to carry a player if he was only an inforcer. The "new" meat heads are the Averys, Morrows and Otts. You can't have some one on the ice that is a step behind as soon as they touch the ice. If you notice you never hear much about the Hatchers, Matvachucks and LeRaques anymore. While they are still playing the grappeling is now a penelty and they are less effective and now considered slow. If they can't impeed a guy without the puck they are less effective.

Watch the dallas d dropping to the ice trying to block the shot and missing it then it takes them out of the play. That ISN"T Turco fault. You don't kn ow what to react to. The shot? The delection off of your own player? The pass?
There only needs to be one keep on the ice.

They just appear to be wearing lead skates a lot of the time.

I LOVE Zuby, but I think they need to get used to playing without him.....the man is a physical marvel but I don't see him finishing the season.

Jere needs to get healthy and stay that way....has to!

We can only trust that Marty will be ok, if not the rest doesn't matter.

Is that not a product of Marty letting everything but Ron Jeremy get behind him?

I understand that, and agree. But I still feel they need some toughness (not that Otter, and Morrow aren't) if not size.

Get used to more of that with hully at the helm. Not saying that's not the way it should go in todays game but he is definitely offense first.

Avery is his boy too and if he doesn't bring this team together he may cause it to implode.

They looked so much better over the weekend against San Jose and Anaheim (until the loss with 20 seconds left on the Turco mis-handle). They were passing crisply and pushing the puck up the ice easily. Looked like a totally different team. And then pfffffffffttttt............gone like a popcorn fart.
