The moon is out, what would you do???

Well last I heard the weather coming in tomorrow, so I thought it would be a good day to turn in a Friday vacation day! However I stepped outside and saw a great big moon that is glowing very bright.

I am not going to waste my day off, so I guess I will pull an all day hunt.

I never do well when the moon is out the night before, I have always thought the the deer move at night and bed up during the day. BUT IT RUT....

    What would you do????

Deer move at night, moon or no moon. When it's full and hot, they move less during the day. When it's full and cold and drizzly, they'll move off and on all day. With the front, I'd go early and stay late as I could. Maybe take a little break or change stands during the day, but stay in the field.

I was in the Hill Country last weekend and the bucks were pushing the does all day. Mid day movement was pretty hot, the moon was not full but very brite. The deer movement did not seem to be as affected as it normally would be with the rut going on.

The rut= stupid bucks. No rules during the rut. Just go hunt. I killed a buck 4 years ago we had never gotton on camera. he walked out on a food plot at 12:30 on nov 18. The rut does some crazy thing to bucks lookin for love.

Tried scent lure combined with rattlin' yesterday after getting to good reports of breeding activity and not only have I been skunked 2x this week but I didn't see a darn thing moving around either. I'm hoping ya'll are right cause I plan on staying out in the field all day tomorrow after I get off duty at 7am from the station. wish I could get out earlier but thats when our shifts change.

2nd & 3rd day after the full moon are always great in the evenings. Killed 3 bucks on that phase and hunt it every time I can

This time of year it's either pre-rut ot full rut. I would be in the woods every daylight hour that I possibly could. Moon or no moon.

My little brother is still on the Junco. He's been corning my bow blind every morning. This morning, after 9:30, he was driving back through my area in his Ranger and stopped when he saw a big body with its head stuck in the blindfold bush. The deer pulled its head out and looked at him. YOu know it. The 12 I'm hunting. He wandered off. You never know. Hopefully he dies this week.

Last night in Brazos County I saw 2 bucks I've never seen before in person or on trail cams, and I had cameras out all summer and hunt probably 4 days a week. They are ruttin' big time and I had deer out from 2 til when I got out at 6:30. Like everyone else said try to stay out as long as you can. Good luck!
