Before you buy anything make sure the size you are after will work for your yard. Can you get between trees, will it fit thru gates....ect. Nothing worse than dropping 3k and still have to use a push mower or weeded a lot of area you can't get to with a bigger mower.
With that being said, give Ferris a look, they are close to your price range with zero percent financing.

Haha when I was younger i did landscaping/mowing.. Quoted a guy on 1.5 acre back yard showed up the next day and kubota wouldn't fit.. I had already made a deal with him so I went ahead and push mowed it..
If you want a 60 inch deck you're going to need more than 3k. Especially if buying a top end brand like mentioned above.
You might find a used one, but from what I've seen zero turns hold their value really well, that's why I bought new, I just couldn't justify saving a couple hundred bucks when I could get one with a warranty.
Good luck in your search, when I was researching Hustler offered the biggest bang for the buck, and with a quality reputation that's what I ended up with.
When you make your evaluation, it is very important you compare apples to apples... For instance, many of the top end manufacturers make a consumer line and a commercial line of ZTR's... Someone suggested staying away from John Deere and others... I can't give you advice on the consumer lines, but the commercial line John Deere ZTR's are absolutely built like a tank and VERY HIGH QUALITY... They won out when I did my research and I have been very pleased with mine... Those are out of your price range as well, but they usually have some kind of finance plan too. When I bought mine, they offered 0% financing too, though I didn't finance it, so all of that to say don't sell yourself short in your evaluation. If you can find a used high end commercial unit for half the price of new, then you are getting close to your price range.
consider availability of parts in your area. don't buy a brand that you have to wait a long time to get parts in. General maintenance is much easier with a dealer in the area.
gravely is what I went with and I love it.
as stated above, you won't find 60" deck for 3k brand new.
do not buy a stamped deck. you'll end up spending another 3k fixing the mower every year.
Another thing, if you haven't run a zero turn before you can cut way more grass in a shorter amount of time even with a smaller deck when compared to a lawn tractor. When I bought my mower I was dead set on NOT getting a zero turn. I had a 52" tractor and my 46" Husqvarna just smokes the crap out of it.
I bought a 54" Hustler SD with a kawasaki about a year ago now. Bought it used off craigslist. Guy wanted $3k for it and I ended up paying $2300. It was a year old with right at 100 hours on it. Been a good mower, just time to change/sharpen the blades.
